Showing the Way: Inspiring stories from Bradford’s Community Health Champions

Monday, January 23, 2012

Bradford’s Seniors Show the Way have produced a new case study booklet which is filled with inspirational stories from 12 of the project’s Community Health Champions.

The 12 stories illustrate the difference volunteer Community Health Champions have made to their communities thanks to dedication and a real sense of community spirit.

While each Champion’s individual story illustrates determination, passion and even self-discovery, the stories also depict the wider beneficial impact on the wellbeing of their family, friends and community.

Whether it’s Richard Brown’s story of raising awareness of diabetes in his community, Vicky Young’s tale on helping others to find a new career, Irene Cyhanko's work in enriching the lives of Keighley’s Ukrainian community or the journey of Brenda Watt’s  who by running reminiscence classes has helped to unite often isolated people, you can’t help but feel inspired by each story.

So why not grab half an hour and enjoy these tales amazing tales!
